WINTER WEEKEND 2010: Middlemarch
The text for Winter Weekend 2010 is George Eliot’s Middlemarch. This English masterpiece follows the social and intellectual lives of very human characters in a small provincial town.
Winter Weekend 2010 takes place March 12 and 13 at Bowdoin College in Brunswick. The $200 registration fee includes a copy of the book, background readings, a reception, dinner, lunch, and coffee. CEUs are available for teachers. Limited scholarships are available for college and high school students. The program starts at 5 p.m. on Friday and continues until mid-afternoon on Saturday.
We’re sorry—the program is sold out. If you would like your name placed on the waiting list, please call Karen Myrick at (207) 773-5051 or e-mailing to info@mainehumanities.org.
To sign up, print off the form, as a Word document (29kb) or as a PDF document (69kb), and send it to the Maine Humanities Council, 674 Brighton Avenue, Portland ME 04102.
We have a one-page list of some over-night accommodations in the greater Brunswick area; download it as a Word document or as a pdf form. Also, Mapquest may be useful for driving directions.
