Poetry in the Branches, A Training for Maine Librarians, June 13 & 14, Bangor Public Library, Presented by Maine Humanities Councl and Poets House
Lee Briccetti is Executive Director of Poets House, a 45,000-volume poetry archive and meeting place for poets and poetry readers in New York City. Under her leadership since 1989, Poets House developed the Poets House Showcase, an annual exhibit of new poetry books, as well as the People's Poetry Gathering, a biennial festival which brings together written and oral poetry traditions. She has received a New York Foundation for the Arts Award for Poetry and has been a Poetry Fellow at The Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown. Marsha Howard, Coordinator of Poetry in the Branches for Poets House. Marsha came to Poets House after a career of over 30 years at The New York Public Library during which time she was the recipient of the (RUSA/ALA) Margaret E. Monroe Award for Excellence in Adult Services. Marsha began her professional career as a Young Adult Librarian so brings programming and collections experience in both areas to her work at Poets House and with public libraries. Marsha Howard
 
Dave Johnson, poet and playwright; author of a book of poems, Marble Shoot, and the plays Sister, Cousin, Aunt and Baptized to the Bone; editor of Movin: Teen Poets Take Voice; teaches at Yale U. and Cooper Union School of Art; visiting lecturer with The New School's M.F.A. in Creative Writing program. Dave has taught many PITB teen writing workshops and is a regular member of the faculty of the National Institute. He traveled to Michigan last fall to present a pre-conference for the Michigan Library Association. Dave Johnson
 
Catherine Morrison has been the Adult Services Librarian at Scarborough Public Library since 1998 and is responsible for reference, collection development, computer instruction and adult programming. She received her Masters of Library and Information Studies from the University of Rhode Island and holds a BA in history from the University of Massachusetts. She attended the Poetry in the Branches National Institute at Poets House in 2004 and has planned poetry programs based on the training received there, including a poetry reading by a professional poet, a poetry writing workshop for young adults and a poetry open mic event.

Baron Wormser was appointed Poet Laureate of Maine in 2000. He is the author of six books of poetry (The White Words; Good Trembling; Atoms, Soul Music and Other Poems; When; Mulroney and Others; and Subject Matter), one chapbook (Carthage), and co-author of two books about teaching poetry (Teaching the Art of Poetry: the Moves and A Surge of Language: Teaching Poetry Day by Day, both written with David Cappella ). He teaches in the Stone Coast MFA program, directs the Frost Place Seminar and co-directs the Frost Place Conference on Poetry and Teaching. He has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation. He lives with his wife in Hallowell, Maine.
