As Maine continues to adjust to globalization, diverse cultures come together, enriching our families and communities. Recently, many East Asian students have made Maine their home as they pursue their education. This affords a unique opportunity to our residents and visitors alike to broaden perspectives and engage with the larger world in a new way.
These presentations, in conjunction with fascinating breakout sessions that will allow for discussion and participation, will provide a well-rounded introduction to East Asia for all Mainers.
CEUs will be available for early childhood educators, K-12 teachers and Adult Education instructors.
Please bring a check made out to USM. The cost is $13 for early childhood educators and $20 for K-12 teachers and Adult Education instructors.
Presenters include:
- Bradley O. Babson, consultant on Asian affairs
- Jim Millinger, Independent Scholar - Chinese History and Culture.
- Patricia Parker, Independent Scholar, Japanese culture.
- Panel of International and Local Foxcroft Academy students
