Dr. Bonnie Newsom | Wabanaki Archeology in Dawnland

On November 8th at 2PM at Millinocket Memorial Library, Dr. Bonnie Newsom, Associate Professor of Anthropology at the University of Maine, and citizen of the Penobscot Nation, will present on Wabanaki archeological sites in the Katahdin Region and across the State of Maine, including the Vail Site in northern Oxford County, which is the oldest dated prehistoric encampment in New England. This talk is one of a 3-part series at Millinocket Memorial Library on the Wabanaki history of the Katahdin Region, which is part of the traditional homelands of the Penobscot Nation. This series was made possible with grant funding from the Maine Humanities Council.
