Hosting Poetry Express

The heart of the host’s role is inviting people to spend time together for a particular, shared purpose, and setting things up so that their time together can be as nourishing and rewarding as possible.

MHC provides a number of tools and resources to support Poetry Express hosts as they convene workshops, gather an audience, and handle event logistics.

Help us know what’s most useful and supportive

We work closely with coordinators, performers, and poets in order to create every Poetry Express event. There are a lot of moving parts in this program—and it is important to us that the process of working with us and with your community go well!  Your reflection on the whole process helps us understand what’s most useful and supportive and what works less well, so that we can keep this program vital.
