Hosting Read ME
Read ME is structured to enable even the smallest, most rural libraries to participate. All that’s required is a commitment to making each of the featured titles available to their patrons.
To make participation even easier, MHC provides a number of tools for libraries to the share the books with their patrons, convene book discussions, host author talks, and more.
Program Branding
Let your patrons know you’re a Read ME participating library!
Program Description: Read ME is the Maine Humanities Council’s statewide summer reading program offered in partnership with Maine State Library and Maine Writers & Publishers Alliance. Each year well-known Maine authors recommend titles by lesser-known Maine authors with libraries and their patrons participating in a summer of reading and discussing the featured books.
Share in your library, on social media, in your e-newsletter, on your website, etc.

This summer’s featured adult fiction and non-fiction books are The Great Transition by Nick Fuller Googins and American Breakdown by Jennifer Lunden, both chosen by recommending author Julia Bouwsma.
